The clinical studies consist of 224 cases which were admitted to the Department of Pediatrics of Dongsan Presbyterian Hospital between April, 1964 and June, 1974. The results were: 1. Male to female ratio was 2.5 : 1.

The serum transaminase and lactic dehydrogenase activity were studied in 28 children with diphtheria
who were admitted to the Kyungpook University Hospital during the one year and 4 month pericd frem
April 1970 to July 1971, and their relation to electrocardiographic abnormalities was observed.
The results were as follows:

Seventy-five strains of shigella were isolated from 214 specimens feces of suspected patients among
children in Taegu area during the period from July to September 1969.
